0-2 shitty night with the Blues blowing a lead and the Jazz played ZERO defense in the first half. It could have been a worse night though, we could have taken Kentucky -24.5 and they lost straight up. I didn’t bet on that but I just have a really hard time that happened without any influence. Someone please check Calipari’s bank account. We are down 2 units on the week with plenty of time to make it up, AND MORE. Who’s ready for MORE?
CBB: 7:00 EST Villanova (Even) - I won’t lie, the first thing that caught my eye in this game was the over under at 127 after Nova scored 97 in their season opener against Army. But then I started looking into it a little bit closer and saw that Ohio State has gotten off to slow starts in both of their games. It took the Buckeyes 7 minutes and 40 seconds to score their first points against Cincinnati and they fell down 6-0 3.5 minutes into the game against Umass Lowell. Villanova’s defense looked good in their opener against Army when they held them to 31.3 percent shooting. Any sort of slow start against Nova tonight could lead to an absolute massacre. Villanova put up 97 points in their opener even though they turned the ball over 17 times. They will need to improve on that as the season goes on and it starts tonight. Freshman Jeremiah Robinson-Earl led the Villanova attack with 24 points and 13 rebounds in their opener. I think we will see Ohio State struggle to keep pace with Villanova offensively tonight and Nova should pull away. NBA: 7:30 EST First Half Spread Celtics (-4) - If you have been living under a rock, the Celtics have been playing some great basketball to start the season. The Wizards also have been a very bad defensive team this season allowing opponents to score an average of 117 points per game. Taking a closer look at the Washington defense, it has been especially bad in the first half of games. They have allowed an average of 68.8 points in the first half over their last five games. They have also trailed by 15, 14, and 8 at half in 3 of those 5 games. The Celtics have won 8 games in a row since losing on opening night. They have been good defensively and I think they will jump out to an early lead at home tonight against a team who has really struggled on the defensive end. Give me the -4 in the first half! CFB: 8:00 EST Toledo (-130) - I’m only taking this one so I can scream “HOLY TOLEDO” at the top of my lungs when they win. Actually, I have better reasoning for taking them but that’s one of the reasons. Northern Illinois is coming off of a 48-10 beat down last week against Central Michigan who ran for 327 yards and threw for 288 on them. That sounds like a good matchup for a Toledo offense who has averaged 249.9 rushing yards per game this season. Toledo is down to their 3rd string QB but they have scored 72 points in his first two games. Northern Illinois is lead (or dragged down) by QB Ross Bowers who has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns this season - 8-6. He threw 3 picks in last week’s blowout loss to Central Michigan. Toledo’s defense isn’t a powerhouse by any means but they have been good enough to go 5-0 at home so far this season. I’ll take those odds against a team coming off a 48-10 loss and who is just 3-6 on the season. HOLY TOLEDO!!!
