11/29 VIP Picks

Well not the way we wanted our Thanksgiving Day to go! How the fuck do the Bears not cover against a third string undrafted QB? Guy looked like the next Tom Brady. Cowboys took the stuffing alright. Saints teaser came through for us but Michael Thomas didn’t rake it up. Still up on the week and ITS ONLY FRIDAY! To the picks.

Boston Parlay:

12:00 EST

Bruins ML / Celtics ML (+115) - Here’s a good looking high percentage parlay today. The Bruins have won 6 of their last 7 and they haven’t lost in regulation at home at all this season. The Rangers have been playing better as of late winning 4 of their last 5 but the last time these two teams played on Oct 27, the Bs won 7-4. The Celtics will be on the road against the Nets who they just played two days ago. The Celtics won that game 121-110 even though the Nets hit 21 3 pointers! There’s talk that Kyrie Irving could be back from his injury but that’s fine, the Nets are 4-7 with him playing. Either way, I like the Celtics to win this game straight up. Kemba Walker came back in a big way on Wednesday with 39 points and I expect another big game from him today.

7:00 EST

Raptors (-4) - What am I missing here? The 13-4 Raptors are only favored by 4 on the road against the 7-10 Magic who will be without Nikola Vucevic? These two teams have played twice this season and the Raptors have covered -4 in both matchups - 113-97 on Nov 20 and 104-95 on Oct 28. Give me the Raptors to cover again.

2:30 EST

Iowa (-5.5) - Iowa has been playing strong this season and they may only be 1-3 against Top 25 opponents but all four of those games were decided by a touchdown or less. The Hawkeyes will be on the road today where they have played good football - they lost 10-3 AT Michigan and they lost 24-22 AT Wisconsin. Two very tough places to play. Nebraska is just 5-6 on the season and they have lost by multiple scores to both of the Top 25 opponents they played. One was that Wisconsin team who beat them by 16 and Iowa only lost by 2 to them. The Hawkeyes have won 4 of their last 5 including a win over #8 Minnesota who beat Nebraska 34-7. I like Iowa to put together another strong performance against a lesser team today.

12:00 EST

Virginia / Virginia Tech Over (42.5) & Cincinnati / Memphis Over (52) - Virginia and Virginia Tech have averaged 30.8 and 33.2 ppg this season. The defenses have both held opponents to 22 ppg but even that would go over 42.5. I like the way both offenses have looked in recent weeks with Virginia Tech putting up 28, 45, & 36. Virginia has put up 55, 33, 28, & 48 recently. We may not see scores this high in this game with defenses who are better but it seems like a sure thing we can get at least 24-21. Over. Then we have Memphis and Cincinnati. Memphis is known for their offense and Cincinnati is known for their defense. Memphis has scored 42.2 points per game this season. Cincinnati has shown the ability to put up points themselves with 29.9 ppg this season. With Memphis being favored by -12 in this game, the books are thinking Memphis will run away with this game. It’s hard not to think that with the way their offense has looked this season, look at their last five games - 49, 45, 54, 42, & 47. The only tough road game for Cincinnati this season was at Ohio State and they lost 42-0. I’m confident that Memphis will score somewhere in the 30s atleast so that leaves us needing 20 or so points from Cincinnati and they have shown they can score - this Memphis defense isn’t the strength of their team either. Give me the teased over.

Celtics let us down early and Iowa has control of their game at half time before only scoring 3 points in the second half.

8:30 EST

Clippers (-5.5) - The Clippers have won 7 in a row and they have not lost with Kawhi and Paul George playing together this season. Their last game was close but that was the second night of a back to back. They will take on a Spurs team that has lost 9 of their last 10 and 3 of their last 4 losses were by 10 points or more. I like the Clippers to cover for us in this one!
