Bad beats all around last night, not only in the games that we bet but looking at the way multiple games across multiple sports played out last night it was a ROUGH day for bettors. For the jackhammer, I’ll just say that the only explanation for the Heat getting blown out by the Wizards without Bradley Beal is that there was a higher power involved. With the legalization of sportsbetting across the country, we have to accept the fact that there are going to be random games where the absolute UNTHINKABLE happens. Sucks when we hammer those games. That should have been an easy money winner. Then we had the Gators to cover 14.5 to salvage the night a little bit but they give up a touchdown in the final minute of the game to allow Virginia to cover. That came after a fucking 50 yard prayer mary. Fuck that!! But with it beind the last day of the year and the decade, you can bet your ass that we are going out with a BANG. To the picks. CFB: 12:00 EST Teaser: Kentucky (+8.5) / Kansas State (+9) - Here’s my underdog teaser of the day that I truly feel like each one of these teams could win the game outright. Kentucky will be taking on Virginia Tech and Kentucky is 4-0 against non SEC opponents this season. Kentucky is all about running the ball and playing defense. They had an injury to their starting QB at the beginning of the season and they actually moved wide receiver Lynn Bowden to QB. He has led the team in rushing in all 7 games he has started and he has ran for 100+ in 6 of those 7 games putting up 99 yards in the one game he didn’t reach the 100 mark. He has caused chaos for opposing defenses and Kentucky has gone 5-2 in his starts. The two losses came against #21 Georgia and Tennessee. Interestingly enough, Virginia Tech is coming off of a game against Virginia where they saw a QB that was capable of running the ball and Bryce Perkins ran for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns in that game. Perkins is more of a dual threat than Bowden but it still shows a vulnerable spot in the Va Tech defense. Kentucky’s defense ranked #13 in the country holding opponents to 18.4 points per game. Va Tech QB Hendon Hooker is up and coming but I think he will struggle against the Kentucky SEC defense today. He has not seen a defense this good and it will be a tough test for him. I think Kentucky keeps it close and will have a chance to win this game. Then we have Kansas State getting 9 against Navy. Navy is a one man show on offense, QB Malcolm Perry. If you stop him, you stop Navy. That will be the focus for Kansas State’s defense today. Kansas State has more of a balance offense with QB Skylar Thompson who can throw or pass. He completed just under 70% of his passes against non Big 12 teams so look for him to try passing early against Navy today. Memphis and Notre Dame held Malcolm Perry to less than 120 rushing yards and Navy lost both of those games. I’m confident in Kansas State to be able to contain Perry as the primary focus and that should put them in position to not only cover +9 but to win this game. NHL: 1:00 EST Bruins (-180) - RISK 1.8 units to win 1 - Not fucking with puck lines today because we need winners, simple as that. As we all know by now, the Bruins have been super streaky this season and they are currently riding one of their hot streaks. They come into this game winners of 3 straight games winning 7-3, 3-0, and 3-2. They have already played this Devils team twice this season and they beat them 3-0 and 5-1. The Devils have lost 3 of their last 5. You can take the puck line -1.5 if you want a better payout with the Bruins covering it in the first two meetings but I’ll be personally playing the moneyline for the higher percentage play. Bssssssssss. 9:00 EST Blues (-110) - I’m starting to feel like a broken record about the Blues and the moneylines that the books keep putting on the table for us. The Blues are riding an 8 game winning streak and here we are again with another valuable moneyline at -110. You take it. They will be on the road to take on the Coyotes who actually beat them 3-2 in a shootout earlier this season but the Coyotes have lost 4 of their last 5 and the only win came against a terrible Red Wings team. Let’s keep riding the hot streak with the Blues team until they let us down. 9:00 EST Flyers (-120) - Another good value NHL play tonight to give us some action while we wait for the ball to drop. The Flyers have won 4 of their last 5 games and the Kings have lost 4 of their last 5. The Flyers offense has been looking good and they have scored 4+ goals in 4 of their last 6 games. The Kings on the other hand are ranked 2nd to last in goals per game this season. The Flyers had been struggling on the road before bouncing back with an overtime road win against the Ducks in their last game. I like them to win tonight against a Kings team who has been struggling. Go Flyers! NBA: Parlay: Celtics ML / CLippers ML (-124) - This one starts out with the Celtics on the road taking on the Hornets who have lost 5 games in a row including a 119-93 loss to the Celtics last week. The Celtics are coming off of a loss to the Raptors but they have still won 7 of their last 10 games including that 119-93 win over the Hornets last week. The Celtics and Hornets played eachother earlier this season and the Celtics beat them up in that game too with a final score of 108-87. I don’t see the Celtics losing today. The Clippers are coming off of a loss to the Jazz and they have actually lost 3 of their last 5 but they will be playing a Kings team who has lost 7 games in a row. The Clippers are due for a bounce back game and they should get it against a bad Kings team. Another trend here is that the Clippers have won 9 straight against the Kings overall and 13 straight against the Kings IN Sacramento. Go Clippers! Good value on this parlay today.
