Opening Day is Thursday and that begs the question. Who will win the 2021 World Series? Here’s our 2021 World Series prediction. It’s a simple answer. The Los Angeles Dodgers will win the World Series and +350 will be the best value that you can get on them all season so you should take it while you can get it. Seriously, they will be -200 on the moneyline in over 100 of their games this season so the best value you will get on them is at +350.
The Dodgers led the league in runs scored per game last season at 5.77. That’s the most since the 2007 New York Yankees lineup with Jeter, A-Rod, & Cano averaged 5.91. The majority of this Dodgers lineup returns and 1 through 6 is deadly. Muncy and Bellinger had DOWN years last year hitting .192 and .239. It’s hard to imagine those guys having another down year like that. Bellinger hit .305 two years ago. It’s also hard to imagine the Dodgers lineup not being better this year than they were last year counting on those two guys being better this season. The Dodgers also led the league in long balls at 118 in the shortened 60 game season last year. A bolder prediction than the Dodgers winning the World Series is that they will have five or more guys in this lineup hit 25+ homeruns. This lineup is going to rake and they will lead the league in runs scored again this season.
The Dodgers pitching had the best earned run average in the league last season at 3.11 and they added the National League Cy Young Award winner to their rotation this season. Bauer is a guy who is capable of 200+ strikeouts. The Dodgers will also have David Price as their fifth starter after he took last year off because of Covid. He’s 35 but let’s not forget about his postseason performance in 2018. Speaking of postseason performances, Julio Urias only allowed 3 earned runs in 23 postseason innings last season. This rotation is going to be great.
They have the best lineup, they have the best rotation, and the bullpen is solid. No one will beat the Dodgers in the World Series if they are healthy come October. We all know that Kershaw and Price will miss some time due to injuries during the regular season but it likely won’t hurt them because the lineup will be putting up 5+ runs per game. L.A. will be fun to watch and that’s who I’m taking to win the 2021 World Series.
