3/10 VIP Picks

So much for that 2-0 start to the week, both favorites get outplayed last night. We are due to snap the streak and we have a good slate to do it tonight. Let’s see what we’ve got for tonight!

NHL:

7:00 EST

Lightning (-110) - The Lightning had a hell of a weekend where they beat the best team in the league on Saturday then lost to the worst team in the league on Sunday. I’m expecting them to bounce back tonight when they take on the Maple Leafs who are coming in on a 3 game losing streak. The Leafs just beat the Lightning 4-3 a couple of weeks ago but the Lightning beat the Leafs 7-3 earlier this season. The Lightning are the better team in this game and I’ll take them at just under even money.

7:00 EST

Bruins / Flyers Over (5.5) - Two of the best teams in the league will face off tonight in Philly. Both teams come in averaging more than 3 goals per game this season - Bruins 3.26 and Flyers 3.34. The Flyers have scored 4 or more goals in 9 of their last 10 games. The Bruins are coming off of a game where they allowed 5. The Bruins have scored 3 or more goals in 3 of their last 5 games. I like the over in this one tonight.

NBA:

7:00 EST

Celtics / Pacers Over (214.5) - The Pacers come into tonight’s matchup as the hotter team and they have won 8 of their last 10 but the over seems like the play in this one. 7 of the last 10 combined games have gone over 214.5. The Celtics have averaged 113 ppg and the Pacers have averaged 109 ppg this season. These two teams went head to head back on Dec 11 and the Pacers won 122-117 for a total of 239 points. I’m liking the over trends in this one tonight.

8:00 EST

Mavericks (-165) - Big moneyline here but it’s worth it for a couple reasons. 1. We are still trying to snap our cold streak and wins are wins. 2. The Mavs are 3-0 against the Spurs this season but their average margin of victory is just 5.6 ppg. That’s a one hoop last minute layup away from not covering. I’ll take the increased chances for an outright win which is 3-0 this season. The Spurs have lost 3 of their last 5. I’d wait to confirm that Doncic is playing but as long as he is, let’s let it rip! Go Mavs!!
