We have gone cold. We’ve also had some bad luck contributing to that. Eagles get worked by the Giants, Ohtani goes 0 for in back to back games, and the Cubs flip the script on the same matchup from less than a week ago. -6 units on the week going into Friday is not how I drew it up for this week. We aren’t going to get it all back in one day but we have a few days to try getting out of the hole.

Tigers (-131) - Tarik Skubal is getting the ball in a winner take all game and we can get it at -131, take it. He’s posted a 4.71 ERA vs the Mariners this season which is much higher than his 2nd ranked overall ERA of 2.21 and the Tigers have gone 0-3 in his 3 starts vs the Mariners. I get it but it’s still one of the best, if not the best pitcher in baseball in an elimination game. He had 9 strikeouts vs the Mariners in Game 2. With a 55 degrees real feel and showers in the forecast for this game in Seattle, good luck to the hitters against Skubal. George Kirby was good last time he faced the Tigers but overall they are hitting just under .300 against him. Runs will be at a premium but I like the Tigers. If you want to avoid the Tigers bullpen you could go Tigers First 5 Moneyline for -160.

Tigers / Mariners NO Runs in the 1st (-190) - STRONG - When you are cold you just need to get wins even if it’s a -190. Tarik Skubal has gone NO runs in the 1st in all 3 of his starts against the Mariners and is 5-0 NO runs in the 1st in his career in the playoffs including 2 this season. George Kirby comes in on a 16-2 NO runs in the 1st streak. Cold October temps with some showers in the forecast is going to make it tough on hitters. Look for both of these pitchers to get through the 1st inning cleanly.

South Florida (+105) - Let’s go with #24 South Florida as a road underdog here. North Texas is 5-0 but they have had a schedule full of cupcakes and went to overtime with some average to below average teams. South Florida went on the road and beat Florida and have the experience of playing against #2 Miami. The books have this game listed as a tight battle but I think a major stat being overlooked is how BAD this North Texas team has been against the run. They rank 125th in the Nation and have allowed 217.8 rushing yards per game. South Florida will be able to take advantage of that especially mobile QB Byrum Brown who is coming off of a game with 162 rushing yards. It could also force North Texas into being one dimensional offensively. I think there’s good value on South Florida as an underdog.

Byrum Brown (South Florida) Rushing Yards Over (62.5) - Bro had 162 last week and this North Texas run defense is more like a Pee Wee football squad. I expect Brown to run all over them in this game tonight. I know not all of you will be able to lock this one in but for those of you who can, cash it!
