2-2 for the VIP and 1-0 on the free play Astros ML that was posted. Saints played like shit and still had a chance to tie the game at the end but the wide open guy in the end zone let the ball go off of his finger tips. We will count the free play as a winning piece so that’s 4 winning days in a row to start the week. ON TO FRIDAY!
Astros (Verlander) (-104)
The Astros are slight underdogs in this game and that’s likely because they lost Game 1 with this same pitching matchup of Justin Verlander vs Jordan Montgomery.
The Astros bats have come ALIVE and they have scored 18 runs in the last 2 games. I feel like they are in a good spot going up against Montgomery tonight who has really been dominant in 2 of his 3 playoff starts and down the stretch in the regular season.
Verlander took the L in Game 1 but it’s not like he pitched bad. 2 runs allowed over 6.2 innings is a very good start.
I feel like we ride the hot Astros bats to get to Montgomery and bank on another solid start from Verlander here.
Phillies (Sanchez) (-135)
The DBacks grabbed some momentum with a walk off win yesterday but they are turning to Joe Mantiply as an opener tonight & he gave up more runs than outs he was able to get (3-1) against the Phillies in Game 2.
Pretty much anyone the DBacks go to out of the pen pitched in that 10-0 loss in Game 2 so I’m good with that matchup.
Phillies bats were silenced last night but they should bounce back tonight. Last night was just the 3rd time the Phillies were held to 1 run or less in the last two months.
Christopher Sanchez will pitch for Philly & he hasn’t pitched in the playoffs before but he’s a guy that’s shown the ability to turn in quality starts. He posted a solid 3.44 ERA this season & held opponents to 3 earned runs or less in 8 of his final 9 starts
Let’s go with the Phillies to go up 3-1
*Traveling today but will look to add additional plays by 5 pm est
