VIP Picks 3/22/24

Do you guys know how bad I wanted to have an undefeated week? So bad but 8-1 for +6.75 units going into Friday is still pretty fucking good. Damn Kentucky cost us the perfect start to the week. Fuckers! Let’s stick to the selective strategy and turn in a profitable Friday then we can do some fun heat check stuff tomorrow if all goes well.

Baylor ML / Auburn ML / Alabama ML / Celtics ML / Thunder ML (-133) - JACKHAMMER 3 UNIT 🥇

  • I know it’s crazy we are taking 5 teams and it’s still -133 but I’d rather take these teams to win than to take them to cover spreads.

  • Baylor will take on Colgate and Baylor is levels above them, Baylor is battle tested through Big 12 play and battled with some of the best teams in College Basketball this season. Wins are wins for Colgate but seeing them sneak by teams like Lehigh and Bucknell just have me chuckling as I type this about what Baylor is going to do to them today.

  • Auburn comes in on an 8-2 run so they are feeling good and they’ve played a much tougher schedule than Yale. Yale played 2 ranked opponents this season and lost both those games by 15. So we can expect a big win for Auburn.

  • Alabama takes on Charleston who played 1 ranked team this season and lost by 16. Bama played a tough SEC schedule and lost 4 of their last 6 coming into the tourney which is scary but their offense should take over and propel them to a win here.

  • The Celtics take on the Pistons who they just beat by 25 on Monday and Tatum didn’t even play. They will likely rest Brown or Porzingis tonight but that shouldn’t matter much. Boston should win big.

  • The Thunder will be on the road taking on the Raptors who have lost 9 of their last 10 games. These two went to double overtime the last time they played but this Raptors team seems to be checked out and the Thunder are battling for the top seed in the West.

Florida (-118) 🥉

  • The Gators have some impressive performances this season with wins over Bama and Auburn who are 4 seeds.

  • Florida ranks 5th offensively in the Nation averaging 85.1 points per game this season and I think that gives them an advantage in this matchup against Colorado.

  • Colorado comes in averaging 78 ppg but we saw them have a 5 minute scoring drought the other night vs Boise St in the play in game. Any sort of drought like that vs Florida and this game will be a blowout because the Gators aren’t going to have a scoring drought.

  • Colorado was hot down the stretch but they didn’t play any teams with the offensive explosiveness like the Gators. If you look back earlier in the season when Colorado played a good offensive team Arizona, they lost by 20 and allowed 99 points in that game.

  • Dem Gators is cold blooded, let’s take them on the moneyline.

Purdue / Grambling Under (138) 🥈

  • So Purdue averages 83.4 ppg and you’d expect them to be around that number vs a 16 seed tonight and that’s right where their team total line is.

  • Don’t forget this is the same Purdue team that was held to 58 points in last years’ historic collapse against a 16 seed Farleigh Dickinson. The year before that they were held to 64 points in their loss to 15 seed Saint Peter’s.

  • I’m not putting it out there that I expect Purdue to lose but I do think their offense could under perform here. Grambling is going to come into this game with a ton of energy and they should be able to get some stops.

  • On the flip side, Grambling put up 88 points in the play in game but 55 of those points came in the paint. It’s going to be tough for Grambling to get anything in the paint tonight against Purdue’s big man 7’4 Zach Edey. He’s got a foot on Grambling’s top 3 scorers so good luck to them trying to drive to the basket.

  • Look for this game to go under 138 for us.
