VIP Picks 4/9/24

The DBacks blow the jackhammer losing in the same pitching matchup they won 16-1 a couple weeks ago. It took infield hits and walks with the bases loaded to happen but it happened. Luckily the Yankees took care of business to limit the damage done by the DBacks. Work to do this week but plenty of action for us. Big baseball Tuesday!

MLB:

7:05 EST

Yankees (Rodon) (-1.5) 🥉

  • The 9-2 Yankees will host the 1-10 Marlins who they beat 7-0 last night.

  • Carlos Rodon will take the mound for the Yankees and he’s looked great in is first 2 starts with a 2.79 ERA. Rodon has shut the guys in the Marlins lineup down who he has faced before.

  • A.J. PUK will pitch for the Marlins and they’ve lost the 2 games he’s pitched in by a combined score of 17-4.

  • Great value on the run line at +110 for the Yanks.

Player Prop Hit Parlay

Ronald Acuna Jr Hit / Mookie Betts Hit (-135) 🥈

  • Ronald Acuna Jr has gone back to back games without a hit but he’s coming in 7 for 12 against Mets starting pitcher Adrian Houser.

  • Mookie has hit safely in 10 of his 13 games this season. He’s going up against Louie Varland who he’s never faced before but it doesn’t really matter who’s pitching to Mookie this year. The weather in Minnesota is clear and 62 so not too cold for an ealy April night up north either which I like to see.

Parlay

Dodgers ML / Rangers ML (+131) 🥇

  • I wish we didn’t lose the jackhammer last night, all I’m gonna say.

  • The Dodgers take on the Twins who they beat last night and who have now lost 4 of their last 5.

  • 2-0 Tyler Glasnow takes the mound for the Dodgers and he’s now 19-0 all time when listed as a -180 or more favorite. Dodgers are -185 as of this morning but we are getting better value in the parlay.

  • The Dodgers lineup will face Louie Varland and he’s not as nice as the Louie your girl wants you to get her. Varland allowed 3 runs in 4 innings with 2 walks and a homerun in his first start of the season. He’s 26 and has been ok to this point in his career but this Dodgers lineup should be able to get to him.

  • The Rangers have lost back to back games but it’s a bounce back spot against the A’s. Nate the Great is pitching for them and he’s coming off of 7 scoreless innings in his last start. The A’s are hitting .156 against Eovaldi in a small sample size and he has a 41% K rate against them.

  • Alex Wood will pitch for OAK and there’s a good chance that his 9.72 ERA could actually go up tonight pitching in Texas against this Rangers lineup that ranks 5th in runs per game.
