VIP Picks 5/15/24

Let’s gooooo 2-0 night! Nuggets go over 104 with 112 and the Dodgers cover the -1.5 by winning 10-2! The Orioles got rained out but we will take the 2-0 night. Let’s build off of that today.

MLB:

12:35 EST

Orioles (Bradish) (-130)

  • The O’s got rained out last night but we still get Kyle Bradish on the mound for the O’s and he’s been great in his 2 starts so far this season. The Jays have got base hits off of him in the past but an impressive stat is his 6.2 launch angle allowed in 108 at bats against the Jays which is essentially ground ball city aka low danger balls put in play.

  • Yusei Kikuchi is starting for the Blue Jays and he’s been pitching well but this Orioles lineup comes in hitting just under .300 against him and he’s gone2-5 in his last 7 starts against the Orioles in Baltimore.

  • The Baltimore hourly weather looks like it has a break in the rain for this game to be played this afternoon. We will see!

Phillies ML / Celtics ML 💪 To Win 1 Unit 🥇

  • I know some of you don’t like the juice risk on these but I’ll be playing to win the 1 unit tonight.

  • Starting with the Phillies, they’ve got Ranger Cy Young Suarez on the mound who comes in 7-0 with a 1.50 ERA. On top of that, he’s dominated this Mets lineup in his career holding them to a .212 avg. Phillies will face Joey Lucchesi who is making his first start of the season. He was good last year but in a larger sample of work over his 5 year career he’s below .500 pitcher with a 4.07 ERA.

  • The Celtics are at home and have the chance to close out the Cavs who will be without their best player again. Monday was actually a good game but every other Cav was playing out of their mind shooting lights out. I think it’ll be tough for them to do that again, on the road tonight. I expect a Boston Blowout in this one despite how much the media is making a big deal of the referees who have been put on this game.

  • If you want better value you can add Astros moneyline to this.

8:10 EST

Astros (Valdez) (-1.5) 🥈

  • The Astros are going to face Aaron Brooks and the last time they faced him, they beat him 23-2 then 6-0 before that, then 5-1 before that, then 11-5 before that, then 5-4 before that. The Astros in the lineup come in hitting .409 against him in their career which is great.

  • Brooks made his MLB Debut in 2014, didn’t pitch in the Majors in 2016, 2020, 2021, or 2023.

  • Framber Valdez will pitch for the Astros and he’s held this A’s lineup to a .154 avg in 69 at bats. Valdez is coming off of a start where he got 18 ground ball outs. He’s pitched 5+ innings in 4 straight starts so look for him to go deep in this game tonight.

  • The A’s have lost 4 of their last 5 and 3 of those 4 L’s have come by 4+ runs.
