VIP Picks 6/25/24

I will start off by saying the finish to that College World Series game was an absolute fucking joke with two balks and two wild pitches for the game to go over by half a run…..not to mention is was fucking 4-1 with 2 outs in the 7th inning before the additional 6 runs over the next 7 outs. Then there was the Game 7 where we decided to play the 1st period under instead of the full game under and there was 2 goals scored in the first 5 minutes then 1 goal scored the next 55 minutes…………………………………….on the bright side we cashed an easy Dodgers winner for MLB and we are up 12 units in the last 30 days on MLB. So more MLB!!

Phillies (Suarez) (-125) 🥇

  • It’s not every start you can get -125 with Suarez on the mound but it’s because he’s facing another great pitcher Tarik Skubal. However, something has been kind of skuey in Skubal’s last 2 starts where he hasn’t looked like his normal self. He’s allowed 9 runs in his last 10.1 innings pitched. This Phillies lineup is better against lefties this season too so I like that.

  • Then there’ Suarez who is 10-1 with a league best 1.75 ERA. Not much more else to say about this one other than I can’t believe it’s -125!

7:10 EST

Yankees (Cole) (-142) 🥈

  • Cole is on the mound for the Yankees tonight and he’s got great numbers against the guys in this Mets lineup holding them to a .174 avg in 132 at bats. JD Martinez makes up a huge chunk of those struggles for the Mets guys.

  • This is just Cole’s second start of the season but he was solid his first time out against the best lineup in baseball (Orioles) last week only allowing 3 hits over 4 innings.

  • David Peterson is pitching for the Mets and his numbers look better than what he really is. He’s 3-0 because the Mets averaged 10 runs per game in those 3 wins but they ain’t scoring 10 runs off of Cole tonight.

  • I like the Yankees lineup to get to Peterson and a strong outing from Cole in this one.

7:45 EST

Braves (Lopez) (-130) 🥉

  • The Braves will be going up against Kyle Gibson who they come in hitting .346 against in over 100 at bats so that’s a really good matchup for them despite Gibson coming off of a strong performance his last time out.

  • The Braves have Reynaldo Lopez on the mound and he’s a guy who I feel like is being overlooked this season. He had some rough years in Chicago but he’s out here with a 1.57 ERA this season and 1.06 ERA in his last 3 starts while going deep into games. The Cards don’t have much history against him so I like that for his advantage tonight as well.
