Hey it didn’t go our way last night. I was cringing at Mathurin’s spacing all night but I still hang my hat on those trends I shared for him. Watch him go for 20+ in Game 2. On to Friday with some MLB and NHL!

MLB:

7:40 EST

Royals ML / Mets ML (+103) — This is a two-team value meal and both sides come with extra sauce at +103.

Let’s start in Chicago, where the Royals get Davis Martin again—same dude they murdered 10-0 last time out. Seth Lugo is dealing right now and has absolutely OWNED this White Sox lineup over his career, holding them to a nasty little .206 average. He gave up just 1 ER in 6.2 last time against them.

Flip over to Colorado—Senzatela takes the mound for the Rockies after getting cooked by the Mets last Saturday. 7 runs in 4 innings. His ERA is basically the piñata at my son’s birthday party tomorrow at this point. Kodai Senga goes for the Mets, and he’s been lights out with a filthy 1.60 ERA this season, including just 2 runs over 6.1 in that same matchup.

Lock it in.

NHL:

8:00 EST

Panthers / Oilers Under (6.5)

Game 1 ended in a 4-3 overtime victory for the Oilers, marking the fourth consecutive one-goal game between these teams dating back to last year’s Stanley Cup Final. This pattern suggests closely contested games, which often result in lower scoring. 4 of the 7 in last years’ series went under 6.5. I also like the fact that both teams locked in defensively after the early scoring in Game 1 - just 2 goals over the final 57ish minutes. The under  is priced at -125, reflecting the expectation of a lower-scoring game. Given the defensive adjustments anticipated from both teams. Lets go with the under.
