VIP Picks 6/9/24

MLB:

1:05 EST

Rangers (Eovaldi) (-155) 🥉

  • The Rangers are facing the Giants and starting pitcher Keaton Winn who is returning from the injured list. Hes allowed 17 runs in his last 8.1 innings pitched!

  • Nathan Eovaldi will pitch for the Rangers and his record is just 2-2 on the year but his 2.70 ERA is impressive. Hes also held this Giants lineup to a .195 avg in their career.

  • Good spot for Texas to snap their slump.

1:40 EST

Orioles (Rodriguez) (-135) 🥈

  • Grayson Rodriguez will take the ball for the Orioles and he’s been great this season coming in with a 6-2 record. He’s held the Rays to a .222 avg.

  • Zack Litell is pitching for the Rays and they actually beat the Orioles in his last start but the Orioles had 11 hits off of him and left 13 runners on base and ended up losing by 1 run.

  • I like the O’s to rack up the hits against him again today and cash in enough runs to get the win with Rodriguez on the mound.

4:07 EST

Astros (Verlander) (-155) 🥇

  • 2-8 Patrick Sandoval will pitch for the Angels and this Astros lineup comes in hitting .310 against him in just under 100 career at bats. The Angels have lost 7 of his last 9 starts.

  • The Astros have Justin Verlander on the mound who’s had a couple rough starts this season but he has been steady for the most part (for a 41 year old).

  • The Astros have won the first 2 games of this series and have outscored the Angels 13-2 in those games.

NBA:

8:00 EST

Celtics (-6.5) 🍀

  • We took this in Game 1 and the Celtics won by 18. They set a record for best 1st quarter lead in NBA Finals history up 17 after 1 and never looked back.

  • Everyone contributed in the win on both ends of the floor but the defensive scheme of the Celtics was the most impressive which got the Mavs out of sorts offensively.

  • Now Luka is questionable with a thoracic contusion which I’ll admit I had to look up and it’s an injury caused by a blow to the chest. Like an 18 point loss in Game 1 of the Finals. I fully expect him to play but if he gets announced as out then this play becomes even stronger.

  • The Celtics are the better overall team and we saw that in Game 1. They didn’t play a complete game in Game 1 and still win by 18 so let’s run it back with the -6.5 for Game 2 tonight.
