Well it was good to get a 2-1 winning day yesterday with it being 2-0 on the NBA Finals to go up to 2-1 on the NBA Finals after the slow start of the return from retirement. Losing half week last week but I'm looking forward to getting into the swing of things with my first full week back. Let's kick off tonight with some MLB and Game 3 of the Stanley Cup.
MLB:
6:45 EST
Cubs / Phillies NO Runs in the 1st
We’ve got Zack Wheeler taking the mound first in the top of the 1st and he’s gone 12-0 NO runs in the first this season. Lefty Mathew Boyd will take the hill for the Cubs in the bottom of the 1st and he’s 9-3 NO runs allowed in the first this season. The Phillies lineup has been struggling to score, they’ve scored just 1 run in 4 of their last 5 games (each). The Cubs have scored 1 or less in 3 of their last 5. Look for these pitchers to get through a clean 1st inning tonight.
7:40 EST
Braves (-156)
Steep price for a team that’s lost 7 in a row but it’s a good matchup for them and I expect them to snap the losing streak tonight. Chris Sale is on the mound and don’t let the record fool you, he’s been dealing - 8 straight starts with 5+ innings pitched and 2 or less earned runs allowed (5 with 1 or less) and he also has had 8+ strikeouts in 5 of those games. Some of the guys in the Brewers lineup have had success against him but I’m rolling with his recent form more tonight. Aaron Civale is pitching for the Brewers and he’s coming in with a 5.19 ERA although most of the damage was in his first of 4 starts on the season where he gave up 5 runs in 3 innings.
NHL:
8:00 EST
Panthers (-148)
We certainly aren’t touching the fucking under after Game 2. Panthers are home tonight and they will feed off of the home ice, they have won 5 of their last 6 against the Oilers at home and 14 of their last 19 home playoff games. BOB has held opponents to 2 goals or less in 5 of his 7 home playoff games. Florida is coming off of the double overtime win in Game 2 and now come home so Uncle MO is on their side coming into Game 3 tonight and that should carry them to get the win tonight and go up 2-1 in the series.
