A weekend to put in the past for sure…..ouch. Not what I expected after such a strong finish to the first half of the MLB season but I’m motivated to kick off a fresh week tonight. 2-0 tonight, let’s go.

MLB:

6:45 EST

Reds (-125)

The Reds will take on the Nationals and Jake Irvin tonight who they come in hitting .333 against in a solid sample size of 60 at bats. Irvin has lost back to back starts and he’s allowed 19 runs in his last 4 starts plus he’s served up 6 homeruns in that time frame. Brady Singer will pitch for the Reds and he’s held this Nats lineup to a .208 avg in 48 at bats. The Nats lost 2 out of 3 over the weekend and were outscored 15-3 in those losses so it seems like a good spot for the Reds to stay hot.

8:40 EST

Cardinals (-156)

It’s a juicy one but just trying to stack a winner here with the Cardinals going into the launch pad of Coors Field and facing 0-3 Austin Gomber and his 7.36 ERA at home. 25 year old Michael McGreevy will pitch for the Cardinals and he had a rough one out against the Cubs his last time out but he’s been really good in 2 of his 4 starts since coming up. He should be good enough against this weak Rockies lineup and I expect him to get plenty of run support with the Cardinals bats taking on Gomber.
