A winning day but wins from the Braves and Phillies would have made it a huge Sunday for us. On to Monday and we have College Football this week! Things will kick off Saturday and we will be locked and loaded. I do have an announcement to make in regards to football season and the increased content that I plan to share but have no fear, there will not be any changes to the VIP blog or pricing of your memberships. I will be releasing the statement sometime this week with all of the details. Let’s get into the Monday plays.
MLB:
6:30 EST
Phillies (Nola) (-135)
I’m sure a lot of you will be like hey Kof why are we trusting the Phillies after they cost us 2 out of the 3 days over the weekend and it’s a fair point but here’s why.
The Giants have been doing a lot of losing like 3-10 over their last 13 games
The Giants will have Scott Alexander starting on the mound and he’s just a guy who’s record fools you at first glance because he’s 6-2 but they guy doesn’t every pitch more than 2 innings and the Giants have lost 7 games in a row that he’s pitched in. The guy also has a 9.00 ERA in August but again, he will only pitch 1 inning or so tonight
Aaron Nola will pitch for the Phillies and he’s not the guy who he was 5 years ago but he’s still a solid option.
Nola has also been good against the Giants holding them to a .216 avg in 97 at bats
7:20 EST
Player Prop Hit Parlay
Ronald Acuna Jr Hit / Jose Altuve Hit (-113)
Acuna went hitless yesterday so it’s a good time to jump on him to bounce back with a hit tonight because he’s only gone hitless in back to back games 8 times this season out of 123 games.
Acuna will face Mets starting pitcher David Peterson who he is actually only 3 for 15 against lifetime so I’d usually shy away from a guy with numbers like that but Peterson has been getting hit pretty hard this season so I’m confident in going with Acuna to get a hit tonight
Altuve is on a hot streak right now hitting safely in 18 of his last 20 games and he’s gone 5 for 10 over the last 2 days
He also comes in with good history against Red Sox starting pitcher James Paxton hitting .324 in a large sample size of 34 at bats
8:10 EST
Player Prop - Total bases
Julio Rodriguez Over (1.5)
It’s crazy this prop is -105 tonight with how hot Julio has been!
He’s 18 for 27 in his last 5 games and he has gone over 1.5 total bases in 7 of his last 8 games
He’s facing Touki Toussaint of the White Sox who he is 0-2 against lifetime but that means nothing when the baseball looks like the size of a beach ball like it does for Julio right now
Whether it’s another multi hit game or an extra base hit for Julio tonight, over 1.5 total bases should hit again and it’s great value at -105
9:40 EST
Padres (Wacha) (-1.5)
The Padres will host the Marlins (I think, the game hasn’t been canceled due to any lingering weather from the hurricane
Michael Wacha will pitch for the Padres & he’s 9-2 with a very solid 2.68 ERA
Jorge Soler has a lot of success against Wacha in the past but Wacha has been good against the other guys he’s faced in the Marlins lineup
The Padres will face 1-7 former teammate Ryan Weathers and they will finally be able to see what it’s like to tee off on him like they watched other teams do to him all season long when he was a Padre.
Weathers comes in with a 6.89 ERA on the season and 8.79 at Petco Park so a pounding is likely incoming!
The Padres have covered the -1.5 run line in 2 of the 3 games that they have played the Marlins in this season with final scores of 9-4 and 10-1
