VIP Picks 8/26/25

Go figure, I got tooting the horn on social media and we lose our one play yesterday with arguably the best pitcher in baseball falling apart late. Still red hot and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise! On to Tuesday to get back to winning.

Braves (-135) - The Braves have a good one here in 23 year old Hurston Waldrep. He’s posted a 0.77 ERA since coming up to the big leagues at the beginning of August. He already faced this Marlins lineup who he will see tonight and he held them to 1 run over 6 innings. The Braves have gone a perfect 4-0 in his starts. 7-11 Sandy Alcantara will pitch for the Marlins and it should be easy as a 7-11 for the Braves lineup to pick up some snacks against him. They beat him 8-6 earlier this month and come in hitting just under .300 against him.

Pirates / Cardinals Under (8) - Andre Pallante will pitch for the Cardinals and he held the Pirates to just 1 hit over 7 innings the last time he faced them. He’s also held them to a .181 avg in a large sample size. Pallante has been hit hard his last 3 times out but I still like his head to head numbers vs the Pirates. Mitch Keller will pitch for the Pirates and he’s had 2 really good starts against the Cardinals this season holding them scoreless in both of those starts with 7 and 7.1 innings pitched. I thought about going first half under but just decided to go full game under 8 here. 7 of the 10 head to head matchups for these two have had 8 or less runs scored this season.

Angels (-115) - Death, taxes, and betting against Patrick Corbin. This guy has been getting smoked like a football season brisket lately with an 11.48 ERA. Wild. This Angels lineup has phenomenal numbers against him hitting .353 even though he’s gone 2-1 against them this year I still like the matchup. Yusei Kikuchi will pitch for LAA and he’s gone 2-1 vs this Rangers this season. He’s not great but I think he will be good enough and I’ll take the -115 number against Corbin any day of the week!
