Team Total

NC State Over (29.5) OR NC State Over 3.5 Touchdowns Scored

  • NC State beat up on UConn last season 41-10 and put up just under 500 yards of total offense.

  • There are some new faces for NC State with the biggest one being QB Brennan Armstrong who has 9,000+ passing yards & 58 touchdowns in his career. He will be working with the same offensive coordinator that he had at Virginia so he knows the system.

  • UConn only returns one starter in the secondary on defense and the other three will be young guys without a lot of experience

  • I think that really opens the door for Armstrong to throw the ball downfield. Armstrong threw for 350+ in 8 of his 11 games two seasons ago so he can really let it rip and I think we will see that from him tonight.

  • I think the spread will be a very popular play with the public tonight so I’d rather target the

Teaser 7 Point

Florida (+12) / Minnesota (-0)

  • The line has moved drastically on this #14 Utah and Florida game and that’s related to the availability of Utah’s starting QB Cameron Rising who is recovering from an ACL injury and has not been cleared to play yet…the line movement suggests that he won’t be playing

  • On top of that, Utah’s 2nd string QB was injured in a scrimage so it’s going to be a 3rd string QB with 1 career start. It’s tough to fact check this one so it’s not official but I don’t think a Non-SEC QB with 1 career start going up an SEC defense has ever won a game. The Florida defense has plenty of talent and they should be improved from a year ago.

  • Utah’s defense was Top 20 against the run last season but Florida’s runningbacks Montrell Johnson Jr and Trevor Etienne averaged 8.1 yards per carry against them in last year’s season opener. If they are able to duplicate that performance in this game, that puts them in great position to cover this teaser as well as potentially win this game outright like they did last year.

  • Graham Mertz transfers to Florida from Wisconsin and he doesn’t have eye popping stats but he does have a lot of experience and he will be playing with the best set of weapons around him that he’s ever had

  • Minnesota has turned in back to back 9-4 seasons and have had 3 winning seasons in their last 4 under Head Coach PJ Fleck

  • The Minnesota defense will be the strength of this team just like it was last season when they ranked 3rd in the Nation is points allowed per game at 14.2

  • This defense doesn’t generate a lot of pressure on the QB but the second and 3rd level make plays especially on 3rd down where they ranked 7th in the country last season

  • Nebraska brings in new Head Coach Matt Rhule who has a history of turning around College Football Programs but it’s going to take time. He took over Temple in 2014 and went 2-10 then 6-6 before back to back 10 win seasons. He took over Baylor in 2017 and went 1-11 then 6-6 before an 11 win season and Big 12 Championship appearance.

  • Nebraska couldn’t generate anything on offense down the stretch last season scoring 2 touchdowns or less in 4 of their final 5 games. I expect them to struggle against this strong Minnesota defense.

  • Nebraska’s defense is shuffling some pieces up front and they STRUGGLED against the run last season allowing 190 rushing yards per game.

  • Minnesota should be able to run all over them with transfer RB Sean Tyler who is coming off of back to back 1,000 yard seasons at Western Michigan

  • Minnesota should win this game - they are the better team and are at home

Braves / Dodgers Over (8)

  • Low number for the top two offenses in the league averaging 5.8 and 5.6 runs per game respectively.

  • Spencer Strider is pitching for ATL which definitely factors into the number but the Dodgers beat him 8-1 earlier this season on 5/23

  • Lance Lynn will pitch for LA and there were 11 total runs in the game he pitched against the Braves earlier this season (when he was on the White Sox)

  • 2 of the 3 games between the Braves and Dodgers have gone over this season

  • Let’s take the over from the two best lineups in the league tonight
