The first College Football Saturday is in the books and 2-3 on straight plays is disappointing, no other way to put it. Two of the teams who screwed us went 3 for 10 on 4th down and Texas couldn’t score from the 1 yard line. The long ball 43 to 1 parlay went 8 of 10 and of course the Texas/Bama plays screwed us there. On to Sunday.

Red Sox ML / Cubs ML (+116)
The Red Sox have lost the first 2 games of the series but they send Lucas Giolito to the mound today who has been great. He’s 9-2 and has a 2.56 ERA over the last month. 6-12 Mitch Keller will pitch for the Pirates. The Cubs get to face the worst team in the league again. Tanner Gordon will pitch for the Rockies and he’s had back to back solid starts but before that he 24 runs in a 9 inning stretch lol. I think lunch will be served for the Cubs today. Plus they have Matthew Boyd pitching who is Top 10 in ERA and wins. Solid little plus money here.

Tigers / Royals NO Runs in the 1st
Skubal and Wacha pitched against each other earlier this season and each went 7 scoreless innings. We only need them both to go one scoreless inning today. Wacha is 3-0 NO runs in the 1st against the Tigers this season and Skubal is 2-0 NO runs in the 1st against the Royals this season. It’s -150 but it is a great matchup. Just be sure Wacha is actually starting for KC because he just had a baby.

Rangers (-148) - Jacob deGrom will pitch for the Rangers and he’s only allowed 3 runs in 17.1 innings pitched against the A’s this season and the Rangers have outscored them 24-8 in those games. JT Ginn will pitch for the A’s and the Rangers come in hitting .387 against him so they should hit him hard today. The Rangers have won the first 2 games of this series and they come in on a 4 game winning streak.

Miami (+9) / Under (56.5) - Notre Dame is coming off of a great season but they turn to a redshirt freshman QB CJ Carr on the road in a Top 10 matchup which guarantees a crazy environment. Miami adds QB Carson Beck from Georgia who has gone 24-3 with a National Championship in his two years as starter at Georgia and could have been back to back if he didn’t get hurt. Expect Notre Dame to try running the ball with Heisman hopeful Jeremiyah Love but this Miami defense was good against the run last year ranking 22nd. Notre Dame’s defense returns key pieces from a unit that ranked 3rd defensively last year. Needless to say I don’t expect a shootout and I think Miami can keep it close or even win it outright with an experienced Beck making some plays.
