VIP Picks 9/20/24

Alright boys back to back winnings days 5-1 going into Friday night feels good! Am I pissed that Rhamondre didn't get much action for us to go 6-0 last two days? Yes, but I'll take winning days when we can get them. Our MLB action outscored the competition 35-7 so safe to say we covered the fucking spread on that one. Let's dial in some more MLB meaningful action tonight and add in a Syracuse football squad that should light up the scoreboard again at home tonight.

Red Sox (Fitts) (-105)🥉

  • Wild Card Series implications in Boston this weekend and we are jumping on the Sox in Game 1.

  • Dick Fitts is pitching tonight and we aren’t just betting on the name, he hasn’t allowed an earned run in 10.2 innings pitched since coming up. His last start was 5 scoreless innings and only 2 hits against the Yankees last Friday.

  • 2-6 David Festa will pitch for the Twins and he comes in with a 5.07 ERA so I think the Sox offense can get to him finally back at Fenway after a road trip.

  • The Twins are coming off back to back extra inning losses vs the Guardians and those kind of losses can take a lot out of a team.

Yankees ML / Dodgers ML (+110) 🥇

  • The Yankees and Dodgers have both secured playoff berths but they are still closing in on winning their Divisions.

  • The Yankees will face the A’s and pitcher JT Ginn who allowed 10 hits in 4 innings his last time out and that was against a historically bad White Sox lineup so the Yankees should hit him hard. Gerrit Cole will be on the mound for the Yankees and no one in this A’s lineup has done anything against him in the past.

  • The Dodgers scored 20 runs yesterday so they are feeling good at the plate and they get to face Rockies Kyle Freeland tonight who 7 out of the 9 guys in the Dodgers lineup have taken deep before.

  • LA hasn’t even named a starting pitcher yet but I really don’t care who pitches for them.

Syracuse ML / Astros ML (-127)🥈

  • Syracuse is off to a 2-0 start and QB Kyle McCord is a major factor for that, he’s thrown for 735 yards, 8 touchdowns, and just 1 interception so far.

  • TCU QB Josh Hoover threw for 353 on this Stanford defense a couple weeks ago so McCord’s got to be licking his chops for this matchup on ESPN tonight.

  • Syracuse knocked off #23 Georgia Tech in their last game and they will be looking for another big win tonight. I’d like to say I trust the Cuse defense more but I don’t but if I’m picking the guy to win a shootout here the obvious choice is Kyle McCord.

  • The Astros will face the Angels who they have gone 7-3 against this season. The Stros are looking to clinch the Division so they are playing meaningful baseball and they have Justin Verlander on the mound tonight who just beat the Angels last Saturday when he held them to 2 runs over 5 innings.
