VIP Picks 9/24/24

We will take the 2-1 Monday but obviously it would have been a lot nicer for the 3-0 if the Bengals played defense on just one drive last night. All good, at least Chase scored on the first drive and Allen went over his passing yards in the first fucking half for us. On to Tuesday with some meaningful baseball as we close out the final week of the regular season.

MLB:

7:05 EST

Yankees (Schmidt) (-162) 🥇

  • I know it kind of juicy at -162 but I don’t feel like relying on a run line just want a straight up win that the Yankees are going for to clinch the AL East tonight.

  • They are facing 7-10 Dean Kremer who they have actually gone 0-2 against this season but Judge, Soto, Stanton, Trevino, Verdugo, and Wells come in hitting .333 against him with 7 homeruns.

  • Clarke Schmidt is pitching for NYY and he’s got a 1.76 ERA in his 3 starts since returning from injury.

Hit Parlay

Jose Altuve / Shohei Ohtani (+108) 🥈

  • Altuve will be going up against Logan Gilbert who he comes in hitting .367 against in a large sample size of 30 at bats. Altuve has also hit safely in 13 of his last 17 games.

  • Ohtani is going up against Michael King who he comes in hitting .417 against (5 for 12 and 3 of those hits have been homers). He’s got 29 hits in 20 games in September and he’s hit safely in 13 of those 20 games. Big factor that I like is that he’s only been walked more than 1 time in 1 of those 20 games so teams are pitching to him.

10:10

Dodgers (Knack) (-120) 🥉

  • HUGE series between the Dodgers and Padres with the Dodgers trying to hold on to their 3 game lead in the NL West. Both teams are red hot winning 4 of their last 5 and this series is going to have playoff type vibes.

  • Michael King will pitch for the Padres tonight and despite beating the Dodgers 3 times this season, he’s allowed 10 runs in 15 innings pitched I like this number and feel good about the Dodgers going up against him. Plus Shohei is 5 for 12 with 3 homeruns against him.

  • Logan Knack will pitch for the Dodgers and he has yet to face the Padres this season but he’s been reliable for the Dodgers especially at home where he has posted a 3.00 ERA. He’s a fly ball pitcher so he will likely give up a homer at some point but he’s seemed to be able to limit the damage this season.

  • Let’s take the Dodgers
