2-1 Monday not bad but could have been better if Chase could have had 25 more yards for us. He wasn't even in on the final 3rd down play for the Bengals which was annoying. We start up PLAYOFF BASEBALL today and we have some good matchups to kick it off:
1:00 EST
1st 5 Innings
Tigers / Guardians Under (3.5) - It’s -145 but look at the numbers for these two starting pitchers. Gavin Williams will pitch for the Guardians and he’s just had back to back starts against the Tigers where he held them to 2 runs over 6 innings and 5 scoreless innings. Earlier this season he tossed 6 scoreless innings against them when he only allowed 1 hit. He also had 21 strikeouts in his last 2 starts against the Tigers. Then there’s Tarik Skubal who has had back to back starts where he pitched 6 innings and only allowed 1 earned run in each against the Guardians. He had games against them earlier in the season where he threw 7 scoreless and 9 scoreless. Skubal threw 7 scoreless in the first game of the series against the Guards in the playoffs last year as well. Cleveland had a nice streak to end the season but they still ranked 28 out of 30 in runs per game this season. Let’s back the numbers for these starting pitchers to shut it down today.
6:00 EST
Red Sox (+115) - Crochet against Fried, under is a solid play here but I’m going with the Sox as an underdog. Crochet has gone 4-0 against the Yankees this season and held them to 1 run over 7 innings and 1 run over 8.1 innings (Judge HR in 9th) in his last 2 starts against them. Fried has gone 1-2 against the Red Sox this season and yes, they were low scoring games BUT the Red Sox went 3 for 22 with runners in scoring position in those games so my point is that the Sox had plenty of scoring opportunities in those games. Bregman is .385 lifetime and Story has 2 homeruns against Fried. Great matchups for those two guys to make a big swing in a big spot to turn this game that will certainly be dominated by the pitching.
9:00 EST
Dodgers (-1.5) - I was surprised to get this as plus money but I’ll take it. The Dodgers will host the Reds and Blake Snell will take the mound for the Dodgers. He is so locked in right now, he’s only allowed 1 run in his last 19 innings pitched and has 28 strikeouts in that same timeframe. He’s also DOMINATED the guys in this Reds lineup in the past holding them to 5 for 48 lifetime. Hunter Greene will pitch for the Reds and this Dodgers lineup scored 5 runs in 5 innings against him in a 7-0 win just over a month ago. LA came into the season with massive expectations to go back to back and honestly they were good this regular season but not great, they definitely had their ups and downs BUT they finished the regular season on a 9-2 run and I think they are in prime position to make a legit run at going back to back. Plus money for the run line tonight, lock it in, Dodgers -1.5.
