VIP Picks 9/6

Another rough day with the Braves coming up short, Dodgers gagging late, and missing the no runs in the first. Our only winner on the day was the player prop hit parlay with Devers and Alvarez coming through. You guys who follow on Twitter got in some late free play action to salvage the day but we can’t count those on the VIP results. Let me be clear, WE NEED A WINNING DAY TODAY.

MLB:

1:10 EST

Twins (Ryan) (-125)

  • The Twins have outscored the Guardians 28 to 9 in the first 2 games of this series

  • The Twins have akis won 4 of their last 5 while the Guardians have lost 3 in a row

  • Joe Ryan will pitch for MIN and he hasn’t beat the Guardians this season yet but he has a 2.95 ERA against them so he’s been good

  • 1-5 Gavin Williams will pitch for CLE and they have lost 5 of the last 6 games that he’s pitched in. He hasn’t pitched bad but he hasn’t got a lot of run support and I wouldn’t expect him to get much run support this afternoon with CLE going up against Joe Ryan.

2:20 EST

Cubs (Wicks) (-145)

  • The Cubs will host the Giants who they are 4-1 against this season including the last 2 days

  • SF is 0-5 in September and slipping in a Wild Card race where the Cubs are positioned nicely

  • Alex Wood will pitch for SF today and he’s a guy who pitchers better at night (3.60 ERA) vs (6.15 ERA) in day games. Wood hasn’t pitched more than 4 innings since early July so I don’t expect him to last long before turning it over to the bullpen

  • 24 year old Jordan Wicks will pitch for the Cubs and hes only allowed 2 runs in his frist 10 innings pitched at the Big League level

3:37 EST

Parlay

Blue Jays ML / Braves ML (+110)

  • I guess we will try this one again that didn’t work out last night because of the Braves

  • Hyun Jin Ryu will pitch for TOR and they are on a 5 game winning streak with him on the mound. This A’s lineup doesn’t have much history against him which I like for this matchup.

  • 3-11 JP Sears will pitch for OAK and it’s a great spot to fade him because he got the win the last time he pitched and he hasn’t won back to back games all season. He doesn’t pitch bad most of the time but then he turns it over to the worst bullpen in baseball and that doesn’t end well for the A’s, ever.

  • Spencer Strider will pitch for ATL and he comes in 16-4. He’s had 2 career starts vs STL and he’s only allowed 1 run in 12 innings pitched against them

  • Dakota Hudson will pitch for the Cards and this Braves lineup comes in hitting .306 against him in 56 at bats

*Let’s see how the early action goes and we will plan on adding a couple more plays for the night slate
