VIP Picks 9/9

2-3 night with the late interception from Illinois in Kansas territory. Mariners blew a lead late. Devers goes 0 for 4. We are so due for College Football Saturday & the first NFL Sunday. We are betting the day in slated today.

Early slate:

11:00 EST

Wake Forest / Vanderbilt Over (57.5)

  • Wake Forest dropped 37 in their first game and Vanderbilt has scored 35 & 47 in their first 2 games.

  • Both teams are capable of putting up points on offense and they shouldn’t play too much defense which should lead to a shootout.

  • WF allowed 17 to Elon last week and Vanderbilt allowed 28 to Hawaii who doesn’t have the offense that Wake has.

  • Obviously Sam Hartman is gone from WF but these teams combined for 70 points in last year's meeting.

  • Let’s roll with the over in this one.

12:00 EST

Colorado (-2.5)

  • This one literally might be the biggest bet game in the history of College Football will how much hype Coach Prime brought into the season and the way they delivered with an outright win as a 3 score underdog in Week 1

  • They have so much talent across the board and they are going to have a sold out home crowd behind them in their home Opener.

  • Coach Prime said it best - "Ain't nobody whooping us at the crib."

  • Nebraska displayed great defense in their Week 1 game vs Minnesota which Colorado did not but on the flip side, Colorado is loaded on offense and I don’t expect Nebraska to keep the pace.

  • Colorado beat #17 TCU and will now host an unranked Nebraska team

  • I’ll ride with Coach Prime and his squad until they give me a reason not to and I don’t see that happening this week.

12:00 EST

Saturday Double Digit Parlay Week 2

Kansas St ML / North Carolina ML / Oklahoma ML / Coastal Carolina ML / UCLA ML

(+101)

  • All double digit spreads but we are just taking them to win straight up for -+101 odds.

  • Kansas St kicks off vs Troy at Noon and both teams won in blowout fashion last week. I expect Kansas State’s defense to slow down the Troy running game & that’ll make it tough for Troy to keep up with K ST offense that put up 588 yards last week.

  • North Carolina will be led by Heisman Hopeful Drake Maye. UNC snuck by App State 63-61 last year but I think this year will be a bigger win margin for UNC.

  • Boomer Sooner doubled up their spread last week in a 73-0 win & the starting QB sat out the 2nd half. I don’t care who you play that’s impressive. Closer game this week but they should beat SMU by multiple scores.

  • Coastal will be at home & they covered vs a good UCLA team on the road last week. They return home vs a much less talented Jacksonville St team & I expect Grayson McCall to get the Chants back on track.

  • UCLA faces a SDST team who struggled to get by Idaho St & Ohio. UCLA should be able to score at Will in this SDST defense.

MLB:

4:05 EST

Same Game Parlay

Dodgers ML / Freddie Freeman Hit (-140)

  • The Dodgers got the win vs the Nats last night & they will face Jake Irvin who they beat 9-3 earlier this season

  • 9-3 Bobby Miller will pitch for the Dodgers & he’s been lights out. He held this Nats lineup to 1 run over 6 innings earlier this season

  • Freddie will face Jake Irvin who he’s 2 for 3 against in the past

  • He’s hit safely in 16 of his last 20 games with at least 3 at bats (80%)

  • Freeman went 3 for 4 last night & the Dodgers have scored 18 runs the last 2 games

7:00 EST

Parlay

Alabama ML / Oregon ML (-110) ⭐️

  • Alabama is back and it’s going to be the Jalen Milroe show on offense. He accounted for 5 total touchdowns last week.

  • The defense suffocated Middle Tennessee as expected but the challenge will be tougher vs Texas and Quinn Ewers this week.

  • Still, Texas was ONLY up 16-3 at halftime vs Rice last week before pulling away in the 2nd half. Bama is 10x better at every position than Rice so I full expect Bama to roll at home.

  • Oregon is the more dicey lege of the parlay in my opinion just because they will be on the road.

  • Still, Texas Tech lost to Wyoming last week and struggled to slow down Wyoming’s offense so Oregon and Bo Nix should have a field day on offense following their 81 point performance last week. They won’t score 81 again but they should score enough to win this game.

  • I also expect the Oregon defense to put up more resistance against Texas Tech’s offense than Wyoming did last week so it makes sense to take the Ducks, even on the road.

7:00 EST

1st Qtr

Memphis / Arkansas St Over (13.5)

  • Memphis will visit Arkansas St who lost 73-0 and were down 28-0 after the first quarter last week.

  • Memphis isn’t as good as the Oklahoma team that did that to Ark St but Memphis has a great offense that put up 56 points last week. They put up 551 yards of offense.

  • These 2 teams have scored a ton of points against each other each of the last 2 seasons with 105 & 76.

  • Both teams should score early & often but getting 2 touchdowns in the 1st quarter seems like the best bang for our buck.

Back and forth day today, a couple tought breaks like coming up 2 points and 2 yards short of an over and Memphis waiting until the 2nd quarter to open up the scoring. I'm hoping Bama, Oregon, Coastal, and the Dodgers all pull through for us but really just trying to claw our way to get a little momentum going into tomorrow. Let's put our money on the Caleb Williams show:

10:30 EST

USC / Stanford Over (69.5)

  • USC almost covered this number themselves last week when they put up 66

  • Caleb Williams spreads the ball around to everyone in this USC offense & has really made some tremendous plays already in the young season

  • 66 & 56 points for USC in their first 2 games so the offense should do the majority of the scoring for us

  • Stanford scored 37 last week vs Hawaii. USC’s defense is better than Hawaii’s (I think) but not that much better

  • STAN QB Ashton Daniels completed 69% of his passes last week & he should do his best to sling it & keep pace with USC. He won’t be able to but he’ll be able to score enough for us to hit this over!
