Broncos vs. Chiefs Player Props: 3 Best Bets for Monday Night Football

Monday Night Football brings an AFC West showdown to Arrowhead Stadium as the Denver Broncos visit the Kansas City Chiefs to close out Week 1. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET, with both teams opening their 2026 seasons.

For bettors, this matchup offers an interesting player-prop market because several key players are returning to prominent roles. J.K. Dobbins is back in Denver's backfield after an excellent but injury-shortened 2025 season, while Patrick Mahomes will make his first regular-season start since suffering a season-ending knee injury last December.

Using the KofSports NFL Player Prop Trends tool, we've compared current DraftKings lines against recent results, season-long hit rates and today's role and matchup context.

Here are our three favorite Broncos vs. Chiefs player props for Monday Night Football.

1. J.K. Dobbins OVER 49.5 Rushing Yards (-113)

DraftKings Line: 49.5 rushing yards
Pick: OVER 49.5 (-113)
Last 5: 4/5 (80%)
Last 10: 9/10 (90%)

Dobbins' 49.5 rushing-yard line immediately stands out in the KofSports Player Prop Trends tool.

He has exceeded 49.5 rushing yards in nine of the 10 recent games shown, with rushing totals of:

77, 61, 111, 81, 40, 79, 101, 83, 76 and 63 yards.

That's nine performances of at least 61 rushing yards and just one game below tonight's number.

More importantly, this isn't a trend we're blindly carrying forward despite a role change. Denver's current depth chart lists Dobbins as its starting running back, ahead of RJ Harvey.

Dobbins was one of the NFL's most productive runners before suffering a season-ending foot injury last year. Through 10 games, he rushed for 772 yards on 153 attempts, averaging approximately 5.0 yards per carry. Denver also experienced a significant decline in rushing efficiency after losing him, making his return an important part of the Broncos' offense entering 2026.

Dobbins did not play during the preseason, which adds some Week 1 uncertainty, but he enters Monday night without an injury designation. He also said this week that he's prepared for whatever workload Denver needs from him.

At only 49.5 yards, we don't need Dobbins to immediately return to a massive workload. His recent production and confirmed RB1 status make this our favorite player prop of the night.

KofSports Pick: J.K. Dobbins OVER 49.5 Rushing Yards (-113)

2. Patrick Mahomes OVER 220.5 Passing Yards (-113)

DraftKings Line: 220.5 passing yards
Pick: OVER 220.5 (-113)
Last 5: 3/5 (60%)
Last 10: 8/10 (80%)
Season: 11/14 (78.6%)
vs. Denver: 1/1 (100%)

Welcome back, Patrick Mahomes.

Mahomes' recent history against a 220.5-yard threshold is impressive. He's cleared this number in eight of the 10 recent games shown in the KofSports tool, including performances of:

261, 352, 276, 250, 299, 286, 257 and 318 passing yards.

That makes 220.5 an intriguing number — but there's an obvious reason bettors need to approach this one with more caution than a typical Mahomes passing prop.

Monday night will be Mahomes' first game since suffering a torn ACL and LCL last December. The good news is that Kansas City removed any doubt about his availability: Mahomes was a full participant throughout the practice week and carries no injury designation into Monday night.

The matchup isn't easy.

Denver has led the NFL in sacks in each of the past two seasons, and Kansas City will be without starting left tackle Josh Simmons, who has been ruled out with a back injury.

That pressure could limit Kansas City's downfield passing game, but it could also force Mahomes to lean heavily on shorter and intermediate throws. We're betting on passing volume and efficiency, not necessarily a collection of explosive plays.

The knee and offensive-line situation keep this below Dobbins in our rankings, but 220.5 is low enough relative to Mahomes' historical production for us to back the Over.

KofSports Pick: Patrick Mahomes OVER 220.5 Passing Yards (-113)

Find NFL Player Prop Trends Before You Bet

Historical hit rates shouldn't be treated as automatic predictions — but they can quickly show bettors where a current sportsbook line differs from a player's recent production.

The KofSports NFL Player Prop Trends tool lets you research current NFL player props using recent results, Last 5 and Last 10 hit rates, season performance and opponent history.

Instead of manually searching through game logs, you can identify interesting lines and then determine whether the player's current role, matchup and situation actually support the trend.

3. Pat Bryant OVER 24.5 Receiving Yards (-112)

DraftKings Line: 24.5 receiving yards
Pick: OVER 24.5 (-112)
Last 5: 4/5 (80%)
Last 10: 8/10 (80%)
Season: 8/17 (47.1%)
vs. Kansas City: 1/1 (100%)

Our third pick requires more context than simply looking at the season-long hit rate.

Bryant has exceeded 24.5 receiving yards in eight of the 10 recent games displayed by the KofSports tool.

His recent receiving totals are:

2, 32, 31, 42, 32, 42, 82, 43, 20 and 40 yards.

Eight of those 10 performances cleared tonight's line, and seven reached at least 31 yards.

However, there's an important reason his season-long hit rate is only 8-for-17: Bryant isn't entering Week 1 as one of Denver's three listed starting receivers.

The Broncos' current depth chart lists Courtland Sutton, Jaylen Waddle and Marvin Mims Jr. as the starters, with Bryant listed behind Sutton.

That's exactly why we don't treat an 80% Last-10 hit rate as an 80% probability of tonight's Over hitting.

What keeps Bryant interesting is the number itself.

At 24.5 receiving yards, he doesn't need a high-volume target role to get there. His recent results show that he's repeatedly been capable of clearing this threshold even without consistently producing huge receiving totals.

Denver also enters Monday night without any players carrying a final injury designation, so we're evaluating Bryant as part of the Broncos' intended Week 1 receiving rotation rather than betting on an injury-created opportunity.

This is our least confident of the three selections, but the combination of a low line and strong recent results gives Bryant enough upside to make the card.

KofSports Pick: Pat Bryant OVER 24.5 Receiving Yards (-112)

Our Favorite Broncos vs. Chiefs Prop

J.K. Dobbins OVER 49.5 rushing yards is our favorite play of the three.

The combination of a sub-50-yard line, his 9-for-10 recent hit rate, Denver listing him as RB1 and his 5.0-yard-per-carry production before last year's injury gives us the strongest combination of trend and current-role support.

Mahomes comes next, although his first game back from major knee surgery and Kansas City's situation at left tackle add legitimate uncertainty.

Bryant is the higher-variance selection. His recent trend is strong, but his position on Denver's current depth chart makes this more of a low-line opportunity play than a pure usage bet.

Why We Don't Bet Player Prop Hit Rates Blindly

A player showing an 80% or 90% hit rate can be an excellent starting point for research, but it doesn't mean there's an 80% or 90% chance the next bet wins.

Before betting a trend, we want to know:

  • Has the player's role changed?
  • Is he returning from injury?
  • Has his team added competition at his position?
  • Is tonight's line significantly different from previous games?
  • Does the matchup support the same type of production?
  • Has the market already adjusted for the trend?

Tonight provides examples on both sides.

Dobbins has a 9/10 trend with a starting role that remains intact.

Bryant has an 8/10 trend but enters a receiving room with Sutton, Waddle and Mims listed ahead of or alongside him in Denver's starting structure.

The number gets our attention. The context determines whether it's worth betting.
